There's something about having physical items to help remember the child you lost and never got to meet. Having these things makes me feel so much closer to when our baby was still with us; just closer to everything that has to do with her sweetness.
I've talked about my Pandora charms before. We also have a pretty box where everything from my pregnancy is kept. I have a journal that I started after my miscarriage to help me sort out my feelings. I also have an ornament from my sister-in-law. Even my bracelet from the hospital the night I miscarried is special to me. Sometimes I just feel like holding it while looking at my ultrasounds. I have an album on my phone with every picture related to my pregnancy.
But I really wanted to buy a necklace from Etsy in remembrance of the child we lost. However I also wanted it to be for future children as well. I didn't want a new necklace for each new child we have, so I picked one with a quote that works for living and lost children.
After extensive searching on Etsy, I finally found the one I wanted and ordered it last week from Bella Hope Lockets. I ordered it on December 30th and it arrived on January 6th (really fast!). I was ecstatic when I saw the box sitting in our mailbox! As I opened it, the packaging was, of course, adorable.
The necklace in the original listing said, "I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always. As long as I'm living, my Mommy you'll be."
That sounded to me like a gift from a child to his or her mother. So I messaged Monica, the owner of Bella Hope Lockets, and she was happy to change it to say, "I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always. As long as I'm living, my baby you'll be."
That quote is from the book Love You Forever by Robert Munsch. My parents read this book to me pretty often while growing up, so this locket has a lot of special meaning.
Overall, I LOVE this necklace. It means so much to me. Thank you, Bella Hope Lockets!
