Lettered Hope

Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. // matthew 5:4

I started making Comfort Bibles after my second miscarriage. After my first loss I felt like Matthew 5:4 was lived out in my life by God's people; He was always sending just the right person at just the right time with just the right thing to do or say to provide comfort. But after my second loss He primarily used His Word. He prepared me for our second loss through His Word and now He is carrying me through both of our losses with His Word.

But you, O LORD, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head. // psalm 3:3

I cannot imagine going through trials and heartbreak without the Lord. He is THE Lifter of my head! Reading His Word brings peace that cannot be explained, deep comfort, a lasting hope, and even a great joy in the midst of very hard seasons. His Word is ALIVE! He will speak to you through His Word in ways you couldn't imagine. Our God is so good.

The Lord has placed a deep passion in my heart to help comfort those who mourn and to bear the burdens of His people. The Painted Name Project was born out of my first loss, a simple ministry where I brush letter the name of a child who's passed and share their story on Instagram. Then I ship the name to the family for free. My best friend and I started an Etsy shop called Burden Bearing Baskets where we make grief care baskets and other items to help people bear the burdens of their loved ones.

After my second loss I thought to myself, "So many beautiful things were born out of my first loss, why do I have to go through this again? I can't imagine anything much better coming out of this loss than what has already been born out of my first loss." But I've already discovered a newfound LOVE for the Lord and His Word through this loss. I have a burning desire to share the Truth with women enduring similar losses because I can't imagine going through my miscarriages without God carrying me.

Even to your old age I am he, and to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear; I will carry and will save. // isaiah 46:4

The Painted Name Project is open to anyone who has lost a child from conception until shortly after birth. I love providing such a simple, yet meaningful service like this to women. However I want to do something specifically for women who have suffered from an early miscarriage (within the first trimester). I've received a surplus of donations from The Painted Name Project, more than enough to cover art and shipping supplies, so based on those donations as well as profits from my shop I'd like to give away a Comfort Bible each quarter to a woman who has endured a first trimester miscarriage. If you don't feel like waiting to see if you've won or you've experienced a later loss you can still purchase a Comfort Bible here in my shop.

Entering this giveaway will be on the honor system. Please don't lie and say you have suffered a first trimester loss if you haven't.

If you have experienced a miscarriage in the first trimester, please fill out the form below for a chance to win a Comfort Bible. The giveaway will start over each quarter, so be sure to come back and enter again if you do not win. If you do win, your story and Bible will be featured on the blog (you can remain anonymous if you wish).

If you win I will contact you to ask you a few more questions.
